In these areas, committees made up of cattle farmers throughout the state evaluate programs and projects submitted by NCSU Researchers, Cooperative Extension personnel and others. The programs and projects are prioritized by these farmers and then funded based on committee recommendations annually. The following names many of the programs funded by the NC Cattle Industry Assessment since the beginning of the program.
As you can see, many of the educational programs are designed to present in workshop or presentation form, information that was gathered through the research projects that had been completed.
Education supports area beef conferences throughout the state as well as NCSU Cooperative Extension in numerous educational programs to assist in production efficiency and public acceptability. Many of the educational programs involved forage information and were delivered through the very popular Amazing Grazing Program. Educational grants selected by the education committee have included:
Workshops
Field days and area educational conferences are sponsored to help farmers improve management to make or save more money, be more efficient, learn better techniques for managing their cattle and being good stewards of the land.
