Kentucky Tornado Relief

As you may be aware, a series of tornadoes devastated numerous communities in parts of Kentucky late Friday into Saturday. If you or your county would like to offer assistance, here is information provided by a staff member of the Kentucky Cattlemen's Association:

This is what our office is doing right now. Please understand that the main tornado was 200 miles long, but there were two other tornadoes that touched down in Kentucky and all together over 25 counties have been majorly impacted. It’s hard to direct efforts over that large of a space, but we are trying. It’s unrecognizable here.

The destruction you see on the news in the rural towns spill over into our agriculture lands. Lots of destruction and death. We are starting to get the cattle death numbers in today and I would assume little by little those numbers are going to increase.  We will remain in contact with our ag counterparts across the state to continue to determine needs - but at this time there are two ways we are requesting immediate help.   You can donate to the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Foundation. All donations will be used to help our local producers in need of farm supplies.

These donations can be made by calling 859-278-0899, through Paypal at https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=56JBAJJYC3RDQ or by mail at

Materials – Anyone wishing to donate materials are asked to coordinate with the Hardin County Extension Office. A list of materials needed in our farming communities is below and will be updated as we learn more. All materials can be dropped off at the Extension office and they will be distributed accordingly to other Extension Offices in the areas affected.

You can call the Hardin County Extension office at 270-765-4121 or drop things off at:

Again, we thank you for reaching out. Feel free to contact us individually if you would like to help. Right now we are just trying to offer our producers any assistance we can give them.

Prayers are continuously needed and welcomed.
